Holy shit balls! I have never seen the Hunger Games, and probably never will after seeing this masterpiece. I don't know many movies that mix the drama with action as well as this movie did. It was brilliantly put together in a way that had me clinching to my seat throughout the flick. The video quality is terrible. I thought this movie was a lot older than it actually is. I also found it hard to distinguish between characters. This does not take away from the movie though. This is a must-watch movie. Absolutely perfect.

Battle Royale is an unrelenting and twisted take on a Lord of the Flies like plot. What elevates it above most mindless bloody action films is that it exhibits a conscience and takes the time to establish characters, emotion, and themes, before the bloodletting begins. At the same time, there isn't much exposition, and the film moves along at a jaunting pace that makes it both entertaining and terrifying.

This movie makes the hunger games look like shit, The story is about 42 ninth-grade classmates are stranded on a deserted island each with a weapon and a choice: kill or be killed and they all been told all of that by they head teacher. let me just say one thing that I Did not like about this movie and that is when the kids would be shot or sharped they will keep moving around like water just spilled all over them and that's it really and let's get to the good, the movie has some really good kills and they is a character in the movie who has been in the game before and he is a Bad-ass. This movie has some really slow parts and they feel like they go on for every just because some of the characters back story are just not interesting to me and that's really it to talk about this movie is …

Battle Royale (Batoru rowaiaru) review Run!

A violent, thought provoking flick, despite its gory and absurd premise, shows hope and harsh realities of life. This picture gets better and better towards its conclusion, even from the very beginning as well. It even has elements of humor and horror despite the drama and action exhibited. Even though there were a number of students, each one has a story to tell from the hidden love, a loner to an innovative computer hacker. Screenplay and plot was exceptional. The story and lines alone are worth viewing with quotes from: Kitano - “Life is a game.” “But cheatings no good.” Kawada – “Really trusting someone is a hard thing to do.” Utsumi – “We’re all stupid.” Noriko – “I can’t trust any of them either.” Nanahara – “But we’ve got no choice but to keep moving forward…run for all …

A Japan increasingly concerned with spiralling urban violence makes an example of troublesome teens by stranding them on a desert island with the sole purpose of making them kill each other off until just one remains. Kinji Fukasaku's magnificently tasteless satire on reactionary politics could be considered the logical conclusion of reality TV. The concept is a kind of cross between The Running Man and Lord Of The Flies. All the usual High School shenanigans are involved, but the introduction of lethal weapons throws the cliques, crushes and rivalries into a whole new light! The young cast are all great and Fukusaku was a veteran of Japanese Yakuza films and therefore a dab hand at stylized violence; the unrelenting drama and action of a type of slasher film where EVERYONE is the killer …
